Tuff Grip Technical Specifications

DESCRIPTION:

TuffGrip™ is a two-component, 100% solids (no VOCs, no solvents), exothermic, rapid curing, elastomeric
polyurethane lining system. (Variations: pigmented, flame retardant, slow) Lining thickness varies based on
application, typically minimum of 1/8" (125 mils; 3mm) up to unlimited thickness

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

• Excellent abrasion resistance
• Excellent impact resistance
• Excellent casting material
• Very good slip resistance

APPLICATIONS:

• Excellent protective lining for abrasion, impact and corrosion resistance
• Spray-on application creates a monolithic, seamless lining which conforms to any shape and size
• Elastomeric properties allow for application to surfaces subject to: vibration, expansion, contraction,
movement, flexing, abrasion and impact
• Bonds to virtually all substrates of any dimension, including all metals, concrete, wood and fiberglass
• Reduces noise from vibration and impact
• Stable from -40° F (-40° C) to 175° F (79.4° C)
• Withstands light vehicular and foot traffic
• Casting material for material handling equipment such as chutes, hoppers, rollers, etc.
• Aggressive non-slip performance can be achieved with aggregate integrated into lining

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR:

• Sustained temperatures below -40° F (-40° C) or above 175° F (79.4° C).
• Application to high density polyethylene or thermo plastics.
• Immersion service

Definition of PBD Terms:

Listed below are definitions and additional information on the terms and reported numbers found on the product data above.

Shore A Hardness

This test involves the penetration of a specific shaped point when forced onto the elastomer surface. "Shore A" specifies the type of durometer. This test permits hardness measurements based on initial indentation and/or indentation after a specified time period. The reported value of 90 Shore A is for an initial reading.

Tensile Strength

The reported tensile strength is the force required to stretch the elastomer in one direction. The reported value is 1700 psi at break. In other words, 1,700 pounds could be suspended from a one-inch-square rod before failure.

Elongation

This is the distance the material can stretch before failure. 100% elongation implies that a sample can be stretched to twice its original length before breaking. 200% elongation means the sample can be stretched to three times its original length before failure occurs. The higher the elongation, the more elastic the material.
